Rules for our arts and crafts fairs

Setting up and punctuality
The organizers of Amata strive to create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere at their fairs and markets. If all participants adhere to the following guidelines, this will be easier to achieve.
(See also "Typical questions from artisans" ).
Punctuality
We kindly ask that you be punctual – it's in your own best interest, as the visitors who arrive early are generally more serious. Furthermore, many visitors to our fairs (especially those held along the coast) come from countries where it's customary for activities to start on time. They will be disappointed, and even annoyed, if we start late. Arriving and/or opening late may influence your being accepted in future fairs.
Your place at the fair
For each fair, we make a plan showing where each stall goes. Any special preferences or needs (shade, flat surface, extra lighting, setting up next to a friend, etc.) must be indicated in the application form. Once the plan is made and the preparations are complete, it's too late to make changes.
Setting up and packing down without disturbing
For each fair, we clearly indicate a setup schedule. Within this schedule, you can arrive at the time that best suits you, provided you have enough time to be ready (set up and dressed) to open to the public at the indicated time. If, due to unforeseen circumstances or issues, you cannot arrive on time, you must notify us as soon as possible so we can adjust the layout and facilitate your setup.
Upon arriving at the fairgrounds, look for the organizer, who will show you your place.
Please park your vehicle in a way that obstructs as little as possible: unload everything and park the vehicle in the area we indicate, before setting up your stall!
At the end of the fair, you cannot bring your car in until the entire stall is dismantled and ready for loading. If you would like us to make an exception, please explain the reasons to the organizers.

Products
- We only accept craftwork made by yourself; no resale; if you come with resale items we will ask you to remove them from the table.
- We neither accept assembly products, nor those produced with a 3D printer or a laser saw.
- You can only sell the products mentioned in your application (this allows us to control the repetition of materials at the fair).
- If you do crafts as a hobby and participate in fairs, we ask you to put your prices not too low, as this can harm artisans who have to make a living from their craft.
- We limit the number of stalls with jewelry at our fairs; if your stall has more than 50% jewelry, we count it as a jewelry stall.

The aesthetics of the stalls and participants
To ensure our fairs present a high-quality image with a distinctive style, we require all stalls to use the same fabric colours: off-white for the roof and light brown for the skirt (see photos above). We can supply the appropriate fabrics at wholesale prices.
At normal craft fairs (non-medieval) we allow folding tents, provided the roof is white, off-white or cream.
You must pay close attention to the presentation of your work and your stall. In medieval markets, we prefer wooden stalls; if your stall has metal parts, you must "disguise" them (with medieval fabrics and/or other similar decorations). Lamps should also be disguised in a rustic style.
Costumes must be medieval, not "hippie"/"Indian" style; wear leather shoes or sandals, not sports shoes; no watch or mobile phone in sight.
By not paying enough attention to these details, you can jeopardize the continuity of the market.
Working in your stall
We would like you to work at your craft in the fair. If you cannot do any part of your work outdoors, at least try to bring some photos of the process, some semi-finished products, and/or tools to show the public how your pieces are made.

Other conditions
- The craftsman (the author) must come himself: do not send another person to sell your products without our permission.
- Children and animals must be kept under control; dogs must not be allowed off-leash. Bad behavior may jeopardize the fair's continuation. In the event of complaints from the public, the town council, or fellow artisans, we may decide not to invite the parents/owners to future fairs.
- Electricity is provided (180 Watts maximum per stall); you have to bring a 15-meter extension cable and a power strip.
- We insist that only energy-efficient lamps be used, and when electric lights are used in Medieval Markets, they must be well disguised. Exposed light bulbs are not permitted.
- To ensure maximum variety at the fair, we select participants for the quality and originality of their products. We also consider the presentation, as well as the artisan's punctuality in previous editions.
